Cities

You can find out exactly what I plan on doing in each of the cities I visit on my travel map, however, I thought i'd make it easier on my readers to list out what i'm doing on a page so it's easier to read!

MADRID:: We're going to fly into Madrid Baraja Airport and spend the rest of the day touring! Later I want to visit the Prado Museum which is supposed to be the best Spanish art museum in the world! Madrid is also home to Real Madrid, the famous club futbol team. We're going to attend at least one of their games to watch my favorite player, Cristiano Ronaldo!

BARCELONA:: We thought it would be easy on us as travelers to go on a guided sight-seeing tour early on during our trip since we will still be getting used to the foreign atmosphere. In Barcelona, there is a Barcelona City Hop-On-Hop-Off Tour where you can hop-on and off a double-decker tour bus as many times as you like at any of the 44 stops. The Northern route and the Southern Route are two hours long, while the Forum route is 40 minutes long. The three tour routes are inter-connected so you can hop easily between each of the stops! This will give us a quick overview of the whole city and will give us some insight into what places we should see more in detail!

MILAN:: Since we will be in Milan for a couple of days, I plan to spend half the time looking at the sights like seeing the Castello Sforzesco the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie (which displays Leonardo’s Last Supper ) and the other half shopping! Milan is the fashion capital of the world after all! I hear that the best chances to see a top designer or model are in the area around Brera (the artist zone) or the Navigli area which I plan on visiting.

ROME:: Rome is known as the Eternal City, rich with history. We plan on going to St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world and the Colosseum, the large ampitheatre where gladiators fought! Other must sees are the Vatican Museums which are made up of a collection of some of the world’s most fascinating museums and is considered the finest collection of art on the planet. It is the home of the Sistine Chapel.

POMPEII:: I'm not sure if we can fit a trip to Pompeii into my trip, but I decided to add it anyway, just in case!
The city of Pompeii is a ruined and partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples. Naples would be a short day trip from Rome. The city was destroyed and completely buried during a long catastrophic eruption of the volcano, Mount Vesuvius spanning two days in 79 AD.
The people and city were perfectly preserved by the volcanic ash.
My parents went to Italy a couple of years ago and said this was their favorite spot to visit, so naturally I want to see it too!

VENICE:: Venice is known for its use of canals and waterways as roads. Even though gondola rides are extremely overpriced, how could we pass up this once in a lifetime experience? The Piazza San Marco is one of the most visited places in Venice because they have numerous shops with locally crafted items and beautiful views.
Next, we're off to the Ponte di Rialto which was once the only way to cross the Canal Grande but is now how to fish and fruit markets. This will be a great way to get a cheap meal that’s authentic!

PRAGUE:: Prague Castle is where the Kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman Emperors and the presidents of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic have had their offices.
It is also the biggest ancient castle in the world.
I am really looking forward to visiting Prague. I believe this will be the pinnacle of my trip and will hopefully give me a better understanding of who I am.

BERLIN:: Berlin's architecture was badly damaged in the final years of World War II, but still has a few surviving medieval buildings near Alexanderplatz, to the ultramodern glass and steel structures at Potsdamer Platz which would be great to see. In addition, to looking at the rich culture in Berlin, we want to party! It is said that most nightlife in other countries is tame in comparison. We plan on asking locals where the best clubs are since they will know which ones are overrated.

AMSTERDAM:: Amsterdam is home to the world famous Red Light District, which has the reputation for the prostitution (which is legal there)!
Also, soft-drugs like weed are legal and sold everywhere. But we wouldn't be interested in anything like that! :) The party scene in Amsterdam is supposed to be out of this world and something worth experiencing.

PARIS:: Paris is the city of lights! I have always wanted to take a photo underneath the Eiffel Tower, I know I’m a tourist. Paris has three main attractions that I plan on visiting. First is the Louve, if you can't tell by now I love museums and history, which is one of the most impressive and well known museums in the world. The Eiffel Tower of course! And the Notre Dame Cathedral.

LONDON:: I will be flying out of London Heathrow Airport and London is my last stop of my month long trip. I have to ride a double-decker bus and see Big Ben and the Palace!

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for any cool places to visit that I didn't list PLEASE feel free to tell me! I'd love to check it out!
